In today’s high‑velocity digital world, it’s essential to empower team members with the right access in Facebook’s management tools. Facebook's Meta Business Suite and Business Manager allow you to assign roles—from basic Page roles to super‑powerful Business Admins. This post will help you create users, assign Page/admin roles, and elevate someone to Super Admin (Business Admin) responsibly and efficiently.
Before assigning roles, ensure the person has been added to your Meta Business account. Here’s how to onboard a new user:
Steps:
Open Meta Business Suite and go to Business Settings.
Under Users, click People, then Add or Invite People
Enter their email address (must be tied to their personal Facebook)
Select access level: Employee (partial) or Admin (full). Use Admin if you intend to grant top-level rights.
Click Next, choose assets (Pages, Ad Accounts), assign roles, and click Invite
The user receives an email and must accept it to complete onboarding.
Once onboarded, assign Page-level roles (Admin, Editor, Moderator, etc.) to control their permissions on specific Pages.
Steps (Desktop):
Go to the Page and open Settings → Page Setup or Professional Dashboard → Page Access
Under People with Facebook access, click Add New.
Search by name or email, select correct profile.
Toggle Allow this person to have Full Control to assign Admin status.
Click Give Access, re-enter your password, and confirm
The person must accept the invite to start managing the Page.
Steps (Mobile):
Open the Facebook app and switch to the Page (via flag icon or Pages menu)
Tap Settings (gear icon) → Page Access or Page Setup.
Tap Add New, type the person’s name or email, select them.
Enable Full Control, tap Give Access, confirm via password
Invitee must accept to begin.

Intro:
A Super Admin, or Business Admin, has full control over all business assets—Pages, accounts, payment methods, and users. This role should be assigned sparingly.
Steps:
In Business Settings, go to People under Users
Click the user you want to upgrade, or invite a new one.
Select Admin Access role to make them Business Admin.
On the next screen, assign which assets they manage—Pages, Ad Accounts, Pixels, etc.—and choose Manage toggles
Click Invite or Save, depending on context. They’ll receive an invite email and must accept to finalize their role.
Intro:
Maintaining a tidy access structure is vital for security and accountability. Follow best practices to stay in control.
Tips:
Audit regularly: Review active roles in Business Settings → People and Page Settings → Page Access.
Least privilege principle: Only give Admin rights when necessary; use Editor or Moderator for everyday tasks.
Super Admin security: Limit to a few trusted individuals; only they can remove others at that level.
Monitor pending invites: If a person never accepted, resend via Business Settings or Page Access sections
Role | Where Assigned | Permissions |
---|---|---|
Employee | Business Settings → People | Limited asset access |
Business Admin | Business Settings → People | Full control on all business assets (Pages, Ads, billing, users) |
Page Admin | Page Settings → Page Access | Manage page, post, ads, settings |
Editor/Moderator/etc. | Page Settings → Page Access | Limited task-based actions like commenting, ads, insights |
Delegating with care ensures your team is empowered without compromising security. Follow these steps—creating users, assigning roles at the Page and Business levels, and managing access wisely—to delegate effectively in Facebook’s ecosystem. Always apply least privilege, audit access regularly, and only grant Super Admin status to trusted champions.
Thanks for reading — and happy delegating!
